Please support Jaz Hinton's battle against a terrible, potentially life threatening brain tumour
Taranaki
12 year old Jaz Hinton from Taranaki has recently been diagnosed with an invasive, inoperable brain tumour. He is currently in Starship Hospital awaiting results of a recent biopsy which will determine his treatment options; However, at this stage the outlook is unknown.
Jaz is loved by so many people - not only by his family but the wider Taranaki community. He is a talented sportsman with the warmest of hearts and a kind, gentle nature. He deserves the brightest of futures.
As expected, Jaz's recent diagnosis has had a huge emotional impact on his family and friends. His parents, Floss and Brad, and siblings, Alexandra and Caleb, are giving him all the love and support they can. Jaz's hospital admission and potential treatment options will understandably have financial repercussions for the Hinton family. Therefore, we are appealing to you all to dig deep and help this beautiful family give their wonderful son the best possible chance to fight this terrible, potentially life-threatening tumour.

Update on Jaz 31 July 2017
Jaz has a Malignant Germinoma Brain Tumour (first one diagnosed in New Zealand evidently)
So quite rare but very good success rates with treatment.
He has had his first Chemotherapy session (3 days then 18 days recovery)
He will be back in Starship at the beginning of August for the second round.
He will face at least 4 sessions of this 21 day cycle before starting on Radiotherapy.
We don’t have a timeline for the radiotherapy at this stage.
Jaz is staying strong & running everyday he can, as well as keeping up with his school work from home.
All our family would like to thank everyone for their support & kind donations.
These made a huge help to us at a very difficult time.
It made us smile to read your kind thoughts during our dark days in the hospital.
Thank you all so much,
Brad, Floss, Alexandra, Jaz & Kaleb
Thanks
Brad Hinton
