Any assistance will help towards getting me to the destinations, accommodation and expenses. What I learn I like to share my knowledge.
International
Hi I come from a small beautiful town in Twizel, from age 12 I’ve loved the sport of Rowing, from being a boat holder to help start up the Twizel Club at 18 years old.
At age 20 I became a national rowing umpire, one of the youngest, in 2009 I was put forward to become an International Umpire by Rowing NZ, in 2011 I went to Indonesia where I sat my exams and became NZs first and only female rowing umpire.
I have been selected over the past years to represent NZ at World Cups and World Championships.
On Friday I was notified I have been selected by the international FISA Umpiring Committee to head to Austria in June for the World Cup 2 and to Argentina in September for the Youth Olympics. This is a huge honour for a Kiwi and a Kiwi Girl.
Unfortunately this is a sport that isn’t funded except a few days accommodation and minor expenses.
I would love the help with some costs as I have a very good chance at being selected for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. Thank you for reading my page.
To be the first Kiwi women to become an international umpire is humbling, to hopefully make the 2020 Olympics will be inspirational.
Winner of South Canterbury Sports Awards 14 June 2018
At the 2018 South Canterbury Sports awards I was so humbled and privileged to be announced the winner of the Official of the Year for 2018. So many great people were up for this award and they were all equally winners in this category. Thank you to South Canterbury Sports Awards for acknowledging me.
I have also had Essence Magazine interview me for their June editorial, what a great magazine about local South Canterbury People etc.
This is just lovely and so kind thank you Norman. Nessie
