Some great news to report- Harriet has progressed to breathing on her own and is now out of intensive care! What a trooper!!!! Everyone is so wrapt. It’s day by day and Harriet is being weaned off some of her pain relief! She is making awesome progress and it is amazing to see her beautiful smile back ❤️ Harriet will still likely need major surgery again In the future to help her valve in her heart, but for now it’s small steps. Thank you again for Your continued support, it means the world to us :)

The past week has been ‘one foot in front of each other’’. As you know her chest was left open and in those early days post surgery on May 1, progress was minimal. On Tuesday morning the surgical team closed her chest. The specialist team at Starship were then able to undertake more tests.

As the days went on, in true Harriet fashion she has made some small incremental improvements.

Yesterday was a big day and a huge step forward for Harriet! Her breathing tube was removed!

After 14 long days Lou finally got to cuddle her precious little girl. A very emotional and special moment. She’s just hanging out for a cuddle from her brother and Dad now!!

Harriet is still having some support with her oxygen and has progressed to high flowing oxygen prongs. This will help her heart manage and function.

We’re still in PICU and not out of the woods yet. Yesterday they did some more scans and have found that some of the valves that have been causing her some trouble have worsened. We are not entirely sure what this means for Harriet and her recovery but we will continue to take it hour by hour, day by day.

She is so strong and such an inspiration to us. We know she will continue to fight and we thank you all so much for sharing your strength and fighting with her.

All of love, Team Harriet xx

  • Healing Harriets Heart ❤️

Harriet has had a challanging week in ICU.

    It’s been tough.

The decision was made to operate on Harriets’ heart again to repair her valve to hopefully get her heart back on track. Yesterday she had this surgery. After 9.5 hours Lou was able to be back with her little girl. They have left her chest open to help with inflammation and healing as this was her third chest opening in a week.

She is critical. She is still in ICU at Starship.

    BUT.............

She is brave. She is strong. She is so SO loved. She can do this.

She is a little fighter and we have faith we will see her beautiful smile again soon!!!

Lou and Ryan would like to sincerely thank everyone for their love, support, messages, and donations. Your generosity is amazing and SO gratefully appreciated! ❤️

Also-a massive shout out to Annette, who is up in Auckland with Lou & Hattie. She is an absolute rock, an amazing strength, brave and courageous and the best mum & Nana ever. She has made so many sacrifices to be there. Thank you!

Please keep Harriet in your thoughts- now more than ever, she needs your love x

From our family to yours- THANK YOU! ❤️
