Harriet is 7months old, and last Friday she had the biggest surgery of her life. Harriet was born with Congenital Heart Disease, meaning her heart doesn’t function like yours or mine. In fact, little Harriet needed open heart surgery to survive. Last Friday, Harriet had her second open heart surgery. A massive surgery, followed by another surgery that night. Lou didn’t get to see her baby for 13.5 gruelling hours.
Harriet is currently in Intensive Care. She is strong, courageous and is a little fighter. But the road is long........ and hard. Lou and Ryan are incredible and their strength is so admirable. Lou is in Starship (Auckland) with Harriet and spends every hour she can at her side. Ryan is an absolute champ, at the other end of the country looking after Hugo & keeping their bubble safe. This pandemic has sure made things a lot tougher. We are so grateful for everyone’s love and support, that sure is carrying everyone through at the moment!

I am Lou’s sister and have set this up to help this family & Harriet x They are the first to help others, so it’s now the time for us to help them when they need our love, support & kindness the most!!❤️
Use of funds
Funds will be used to help support this family with extra costs being away from home, especially when they are at both ends of the country.

Small steps & smiles...., 2 June 2020
Some great news to report- Harriet has progressed to breathing on her own and is now out of intensive care! What a trooper!!!! Everyone is so wrapt. It’s day by day and Harriet is being weaned off some of her pain relief! She is making awesome progress and it is amazing to see her beautiful smile back ❤️ Harriet will still likely need major surgery again In the future to help her valve in her heart, but for now it’s small steps. Thank you again for Your continued support, it means the world to us :)
