Harry's Leg Brace Fund
Provide leg braces for Harry to correct his alignment so that he can stand up and walk.
Auckland
Aged 3 years old, Harry had a Polio Like Illness which caused paralysis in both of his legs. He is currently 13 years of age and he is a full time wheelchair user. We are fundraising towards a unique leg bracing system made of carbon fibre, which will be fitted by an Orthotist called Maraduke Loke who is based in San Diego. The first part of the process is taking place in Auckland, after that Harry will be traveling to San Diego to get fitted with the braces. This unique bracing system will enable Harry to stand and walk in the correct alignment, therefore preventing damage to his lower limbs and spine, importantly reducing the risk of future surgery.

I am Harry's Mum, raising funds towards the cost of Carbon Fibre Dynamic Braces, which can only be made in San Diego. This bracing system will help Harry to stand and walk, providing the correct alignment for his feet, legs and spine.
Use of funds
The funds will pay for the cost of the braces and the fitting process.

It's 4 year since our trip to California. My son is now driving with a hands control unit fitted to the car, wearing the leg braces allows him to stand up and put the wheelchair in the boot, then he walks around the car to the driver side. He wears the leg braces every day for either work or school, and can take a few steps around the house. Eternally grateful to everyone.
