Hayley and Aimee’s Jamboree Journey 2027

$1,240 of $4,000 goal
Given by 15 generous donors in 8 days

Help Hayley and Aimee fund their journey to the 2027 Girl Guiding Jamboree through determination, hard work and a special hair donation.

Christchurch, Canterbury

Hayley and Aimee have been dedicated members of Girl Guiding for many years and have the incredible opportunity to attend the 2027 Girl Guiding NZ Jamboree — a once in every 4 years event that brings together girls from across New Zealand and globally for adventure, leadership, friendship and personal growth.

Hayley has achieved her Aoraki Award, and Aimee is currently working towards hers (the highest award for a Girl Guide), reflecting the commitment, service and perseverance both girls have shown throughout their Guiding journey.

The cost of attending is significant, so the girls are committed to raising as much as they can themselves to cover the fees. The Jamboree is held on the North Island for a week.

As part of their fundraising journey, Aimee will be donating four years of carefully grown hair to help create a wig for a child experiencing hair loss through cancer treatment, and Hayley will be hiking the mighty UNESCO Tongariro Crossing!!

This requires an immense effort, with an overall distance of 20km, climbing The Devil’s Staircase (350m elevation), reaching highest point of the Red Crater (1886m elevation) and the End Point - a steep, knee-testing decent of 1100m. The overall journey is approx 8 hours.

Any support, no matter the size, will help them get one step closer to this unforgettable experience.

Thank you for supporting two hardworking girls on their "Journey to Jamboree" dream and supporting a child experiencing their "Journey to Recovery" from cancer.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
