I will be shaving my head to fundraise money for the Laura Fergusson Brain Injury Trust in honour of my friend Wilson Murray.
Canterbury
In honour of the most positive bloke I’ve ever known, I will be shaving my head in December, to raise money for the Laura Ferguson Brain Injury Trust. 2 years ago, my friend Wilson fell from a 3 storey building, which left him with a severe head injury that placed him in a coma. Despite all odds, the Trust helped rehab him back to his old self; learning to walk and talk again.
His remarkable recovery was a testament to his character and his life made a difference to mine and many others. On the awful day of the 27th Sep 2022 Wilson passed away in a car accident. Although he’s gone too early, the Trust helped provide 2 extra years of irreplaceable memories, which meant the world to his friends and whānau. Wilson's rehab wouldn't have been possible without this Trust, who supported him through every step; literally every step.
Wilson is no longer able to make the difference in peoples lives that he was bound to make. Just because he's gone, it doesn't mean that his impact is too. Alongside my buzz cut, your help can offer more people a chance at an immense difference to their lives. As the current facilities are no longer fit for purpose, your donations will go towards a new campus, to support for the growing demand of those in need.
Please watch Wilson a week before he passed talk about the impact that the Trust made:

As something that extends greater than you or me, any contribution is appreciated.

Building a campus for the Laura Fergusson Brain Injury Trust, where services are in high demand and facilities are no longer adequate. More people affected by serious injuries or disabilities will have better accessibility to facilities for rehabilitation.
