Nationwide

*** Contribution ***

I am cutting my hair off and donating it to Freedom hair to use in wigmaking. Along the way, I will be finding ways to give back to every donation, including early access to my upcoming EP, landscape photography from my collection, and a special mention on the website. These are small offerings, but I very much hope you enjoy them.

*** Gratitude ***

I am humbled by the help and guidance I've received over my lifetime. From friends, to family, to my wider community. Almost without exception, they have had support from- or been impacted by- people finding their way through depression, anxiety, trauma, and more.

With the decline of support for mental health in places like Christchurch city, I feel this is especially important for young people growing into maturity, finding ways to navigate in an ever-changing, sometimes threatening world.

I've grown my hair from probably some 5 years now, it's the longest it has ever been. Though only a small gesture, it's my sincere hope that we can use this event to generate strength and support for two of the most amazing NZ charities I know: The Mental Health Foundation, and the Rites of Passage Foundation (a.k.a. Tracks Trust and Tides Trust).

***Donate Hours***

Cash isn’t the only way to contribute during this drive. I encourage you to dig an hour, two hours, whatever time you feel you can put aside, and give it to a person or group that’s dear to you. Our time, our presence and our talents are among the most precious gifts we can provide to anyone, and in the spirit of creating more space for these gifts in a world full of printed money, I would invite you to involve yourself directly.

***Gratitude Package***

If you donate hours, or are a GiveALittle donor, let me know a song you’d like to hear me cover! I will cover two additional song chosen from the suggestions of donors and add it to the Gratitude package.

To sign up for the Gratitude pack and suggest a song, check out the 1000hours website (1000hours.co.nz) or follow the link after donation :-)

Dean Harliwich's involvement (page creator)

I hope the Mental Health Foundation needs no introduction. This feels more important with the declines in funding, and the increase in demand for care as cities like Christchurch continue to navigate the damage natural disaster and the synthetic drug epidemic has created in their community.

The Rites of Passage Foundation (Charitable Trust of "Tracks" and "Tides") has made a longlasting and significant impact on my life. They deal directly with fathers & sons, mothers & daughters in the transition from childhood into young adulthood.

I have experienced Tracks both as a young explorer and also as later as volunteer in my adult years, and I believe that what they offer for parents, children and teens is profound.

Furthermore I will be raising hours (as always) for the 1000 hours project, encouraging you to chip in time toward yourself or your local community, wherever you feel inspired to do so - Ground Floor Generosity is one of the most powerful ways to transform the world, so lets do it!!!

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
