Helensville Group Opposing Solar Farm Construction Incorporated
Our Group are Helensville Locals who are concerned about the Proposed Solar Farm at 23 Rogan Ave, Helensville.

The Incorporated Society formed by a group of local residents is not against the installation of industrial sized solar power stations as such but is committed to ensuring that any such installation in Helensville is undertaken ethically, sustainably, to high and appropriate standards and not to the detriment of the local community or parts thereof. There is insufficient information available to date to have any confidence that any of those standards will be met. It is not in the communities best interests for a Resource Management Consent to be granted which does not meet those standards as those will be the standards the community will be stuck with for the next 35+ years.
Use of funds
Funds raised are for the sole purpose of funding the appointment of experts to represent the Group at a Council Hearing and potentially an Environment Hearing. We have had an estimate of of $30,000 from The Planning Collective Limited to represent us in the Environment Court.
In the event that funding is not required or funds raised exceed the amount required, surplus funds will be donated to St Johns and the local Hospice
