Supporting Uyghur widows and students in Türkiye.
Auckland
Imagine a future where Uyghur widows in Türkiye are empowered to build secure lives for themselves and their children. A future where young Uyghur students have the tools to break the cycle of poverty and achieve their full potential. Today, that future is within reach—but only with your help.
These resilient women, many widowed by forced displacement and adversity, struggle to provide for their children with minimal aid. They face overwhelming barriers—language obstacles, lack of job opportunity, and financial instability. Their children lack access to the education they desperately need to secure a better future.
At Empower Communities Charitable Trust, we are one of the few NGOs dedicated to serving the Uyghur community in Türkiye. Right now, we are raising funds to provide essential monthly support for 100 families who have no other means of survival.
Why Your Help is Urgent:
• Widowed mothers are left alone to care for their children, some with severe disabilities, unable to afford even the most basic needs.
• Young Uyghurs, determined to study and gain the skills they need to find a job, face the risk of losing their education without financial support, especially those battling health issues who need assistance to focus on their studies without the burden of medical costs.
These families are not asking for handouts—they are asking for a chance to rebuild, to study, to work, and to thrive.
Your donation is more than charity—it’s a lifeline. Be the reason they find hope again!
ECCT is a non-profit organization, registered in August 2021, in New Zealand that focuses on community-led development and social empowerment to Uyghurs in NZ and overseas.
Your support will:
$70 Provide one family with life-saving monthly support

$210 Give students and widows the stability they need to break down barriers and create a brighter future.
