First of all, thank you all for your expressions of sympathy and support for us during Phong's treatment and funeral.
Just a quick update from us, we brought Phong's ashes to Lincoln Cemetery which is in the middle of Lincoln Golf Course where Phong developed his love and passion for golf. We believe he is happy there.
Also, we both have managed to come back to work for the last 3 working days at reduced capacity. It is not easy to adapt with the new normal but we will try our best.
Last but not least, I just want to send my special thanks to my colleague Angela for creating the page and updating it since day 1. Thanks for helping me with going through this and share the sorrow with my family and myself <3.
In light of the passing of our dear young man, Phong Nguyen, we are helping his family to guide friends and families how to show support.
In Vietnam, friends and relatives offer condolences money as a ritualistic support. This fund will help the family with funeral expenses. Futhermore, Phong has had Tremendous support from the child cancer foundation (https://www.cancer.org.nz/donate-now/). The family wishes that fund can be donated to the foundation to keep it going and helping others. For the two reasons above, we will leave you choices of donating to the family or the child cancer foundation to whatever you feel comfortable with. There is no obligation to give anything. Nhan and family really appreciate all the love and well supports friends have shown and given them. Please don't feel any pressure in giving any flowers or donations at all.
Please join the family in showing respect and farewelling Phong tomorrow, Monday 11th March at 2pm at Westpark Chapel.
