Kiwi Dad looking for help providing Kiwi holidays for the daughter he loves
Wainuiomata, Lower Hutt
G'day My names Ants, and I'm a Dad.
I'm a lot of other things too, Comedian, Actor, Improvisor, Mental Health Sufferer, Iron Maiden Fan just to name a few but these mean little compared to being Dad to my 10yr old Daughter Molly.
Funny, intelligent and caring, my daughter has stood by me and been my rock during what has been honestly a pretty rough year. After being screwed over by my ex employers I ended up in a deep depression, I also had a nasty relationship breakup, was homeless for a month and to top it all off my car died unexpectedly.
Through every bad patch Molly has been there 100% and understands that Dad cant earn much at the moment till he gets well again. One thing that I've always been able to provide is camping holidays together. At less that $20pr night we have explored and stayed at campsites all over Wellington/Wairarapa region, even sharing a sleeping bag when I underestimated how cold it would get mid winter!
Sadly our second hand Kathmandu tent decided last camp that the NZ UV rays have won and the whole thing turned into a small indoor pond. I have tried as hard as I can, but on my very low income and high rent I just cant save up for another.
So here I am, Still proud but cap in hand for the benefit of my daughter.
I'd like to buy a new tent so we can camp for the next 10-15 years.
If we are lucky enough to raise above the $600 I'll spend every single penny on camping gear and camp fees. Full updates with pics will be given throughout.
Chur, Ants
First of all a Tent! any leftover will be spent on camping supplies to make each holiday even better.
Huzzah!! 18 September 2025
Thanks to a short term loan to be paid back when this page pays out we have a new tent for the holidays!!
I also was able to upgrade the tent pegs to much thicker ones with glow in the dark tops!
Even better I found $90 camp stretchers for only $10 at bunnings. Bought one for Molly and was so impressed I bought 2 more to replace my ones as they take a ton less space 😂
The more we raise the more we get to "Glamping".
Thanks again from me and my little buddy.
Cheers Rachel, helping Molly discover more of Aotearoa is all part of the experience.
Thanks so much for this and your other help Mum xo
