The first step of my journey COMPLETE
14 November 2025Hello everyone :) I’m so happy to report despite complications I am doing well - On Monday I had coils a metre in length inserted into my veins in my pelvis . A procedure called ovarian vein embolisation . I’ve attached a photo for reference on my condition and how they treat it .
This was to close off the source of my vascular issue .
In three months after healing has finished I will move on with my surgeon to the next step of having a similar procedure done on my legs to shut down all the veins that were unfortunately damaged from these problem veins in my pelvis ( this is the last part of my journey that you have all helped to cover due to this part not being covered or offered to me publicly )
I was extremely lucky after many news stories with Jess Roden and pleading with our health system that I was offered this embolisation of my veins (a 47 thousand dollar surgery ) , all done publicly in Christchurch !!
I’m really on the home stretch now to hopefully get back to my full self ❤️
I wanted to let everyone aware also , that I am now also advocating for women in similar positions to me who have had a pelvic congestion syndrome diagnosis but are not being offered any publicly funded treatments.
I’m hoping for change on that so others don’t have to suffer the same way I have .
Thank you so much for everyone who has helped me get to where I am today .
Sophie
