Support 11-year-old Alex in his leukemia battle by helping him get a VR headset for his hospital stay and bring comfort to other kids too.
Auckland
Our brave 11-year-old son, Alex, has relapsed with leukemia, just four months after being in remission. It’s been a tough two months since the relapse, with constant hospital visits and grueling treatments. His first round of treatment had no impact, leaving 75% of his bone marrow filled with leukemia cells.
The next step is a bone marrow transplant, requiring at least a two-month hospital stay, including Christmas. During this time, Alex will have no immunity, making his stay even harder as he fights through the most challenging part of his treatment.
We’re seeking help to make Alex’s journey easier. We hope to raise funds for a VR headset, so he can escape the hospital room when he feels up to it. His sister Zari, who can’t be near him during early stages, will connect with him through the headset to keep their bond strong.
We also want to make Alex’s room as comfortable as possible and help with costs that arise due to his treatment. We hope to get a few more headsets for other kids in the cancer ward, giving them some escape as well.
Your support will help ease this difficult time for Alex and other kids. Every contribution counts, and we thank you for helping make this journey a little easier for Alex.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
I am Alex’s mum, supporting him every step of the way through his leukemia journey. As a family, we’re doing everything we can to make this challenging time easier for him and to bring a bit of comfort to other children in the hospital as well.
The funds will buy Alex a VR headset to ease his hospital stay. Also for costs associated with his treatment (such as food and travel expenses, including Uber, petrol, and parking, etc).
Additional money will help with his room setup and headsets for other kids.
