Funds to support Amber after discovering brain cancer. She will be unable to work for some time.
Waikato
At the of September Amber suffered five seizures and was admitted to hospital via ambulance, where doctors found a cancerous tumour on her brain. She has been urgently scheduled for surgery and subsequent radiation therapy to fight this disease.
Amber is a self-employed home-based early childhood kaiako who up until last week spent her days caring for children. These children and their families love Amber with all their being which tells you a little about who she is.
Amber got married earlier this year to her best friend Richard. Three days before the first seizure she and Richard had just moved into their first home. Thankful to be in their own home, surrounded by sun and nature, they now face an uncertain future with mortgage repayments while living on a single salary. Amber is the most organised person but this was not in her budget! After surgery there is a risk of further seizures, and potential weakness through the treatment and eventual recovery process, and so we her friends would love to support her until she is again able to work.
This page has been set up due to numerous requests from family and friends as to how they can help support Amber at this time.
Amber is someone I wish I was 20 years ago. She has a zest for life with no bullshit given access to cloud her judgement or her sense of what is right. An amazing advocate for children and a wonderful friend. Janice is Amber's mother.
All funds raised will be gifted to Amber to contribute to her living expenses
