Amber has lost everything with the sudden suicide of her partner of 18 years.

Northland

This Givealittle page has been set up to help Amber. She has been a very dear friend of mine for over 25 years. Amber's life was turned upside down on August 6th this year at the very sudden and unexpected death of her soul mate and partner of 18 years. Amber was completely broken at losing not only a life partner but a very good friend who she trusted and worked alongside to create a future for their retirement. 2 years ago they purchased a lifestyle block in Kerikeri and had undertaken a building project which was to be the final resting place. They rented 2 cabins for the property so that they could be onsite whilst the house was being built.

The larger of the 2 cabins included a bedroom, a bathroom and a kitchenette whilst the smaller cabin served as storage space only.

Due to events outside of Amber's knowledge she now has significant amount of debt. Amber has been advised by solicitors handling her late partner's estate that the property, with the house build incomplete ,has to be sold before the banks take action

In effect, this has left Amber both penniless and homeless, on top of the extreme metal and emotional trauma of events surrounding her partner's death. She had been completely in the dark regarding their financial position and has struggled to hold down her part time job in order to bring a small amount of money in.

The larger cabin has been uplifted by the hire company as payments were in arrears since her partners death. The smaller cabin remains for the time being but has no toileting, bathroom or kitchen facilities. Friends and neighbours have assisted where possible with gifts of groceries and petrol vouchers as a bare minimum to help keep her afloat but this can not be sustained indefinitely.

Amber has 2 horses and 2 dogs with her that she may need to part with, so essentially at 57 years old will have nothing! She doesn't deserve this as is such a generous and caring person herself.

I have created this page in order to help Amber rebuild her life. Although things will never be the same, having the security of a home for herself and her animals will alleviate her current distress. It is my hope that we can raise enough funds to secure a deposit on a small holding in Kerikeri, where mortgage repayments will work out cheaper by far, than renting a property.

Any small donation will be hugely appreciated and will go directly to a HOUSE ACCOUNT set up specifically for Amber. Let's ensure that she has a chance at rebuilding her life.

Amber has been one of my best friends for 25 years and it hurts to see her suffering. I want to help her rebuild her life.

Use of funds

Hoping to raise enough for Amber to put a deposit on a very small property in Kerikeri where she can be close to friends and keep her animals.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
