Help Andrew Cook & Bethany Matai Edmunds rebuild after the devastating Kaitāia floods
On 26/03/2026, severe flooding hit Kaitāia and surrounding areas, forcing evacuations and leaving homes underwater. Among those impacted are Andrew, Bethany and their two girls Tui & Kaps.
The rains flooded their family home, destroying cars, property and equipment causing over $50,000 in damage. Unfortunately our whanau were not insured and do not have the means to rebuild.
As you know Andrew and Bethany have always shown up for their people, leading with generosity, aroha, and purpose.
We are asking our community to come together to support our whanau and help them rebuild what they have lost.
Funds collected will go towards:
- Property recovery
- Replacement of vehicles
- Sound equipment and gear
Andrew and Bethany are the founders of Toi Oho Creative Activators, a whānau-led kaupapa uplifting communities through creativity, hauora, and tikanga Māori across Te Tai Tokerau.
Alongside this whenua being their home, they’ve been working toward building a community-focused creative space, a place for people to gather, learn, and grow.
Please join us with any contribution you can in their time of need. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page, that alone can go a long way.
Let’s come together and support our people.
Ngā mihi nui ❤️
