Please Help Archie & I find peace in what has happened to him. Help us make Archie Smile again!
Bay of Plenty
Hi my name is Grace, I am 21 years old, I am also Archie’s mother. Archies journey started at 4 months old when his development progressively decreased, before then Archie was a happy, healthy ”normal” baby. At 8 months old Archie had his first seizure lasting 90minutes. We were then told that our son had calcium build up on his brain and is also physically disabled. Archie has a rare genetic disorder called Aicardi-Goutieres syndrome. Archie has recently been having seizures every 40 minutes and the hospital have no answers for us!!
Donations will be used to help pay for alternative treatments for Archie!
The stress and heartache as a single young mother is very hard but if I can find a way to make my son smile again I am going to try! So please help us, any amount helps and means a lot to me and Archie! Thank you
Brief outline of Archie’s Disorder:
Babies with later-onset AGS begin having symptoms after the first weeks or months of normal development, which appear as a progressive decline in head growth, weak or stiffened muscles (spasticity), and cognitive and developmental delays that range from moderate to severe. Symptoms last for several months, and include irritability, inconsolable crying, intermittent fever, seizures, and loss of developmental skills. Children may also have puffy swelling on the fingers, toes, and ears that resemble chilblains. A number of children have a noticeable startle reaction to sudden noise. For babies with the later-onset form, as symptoms lessen, there is no further worsening of the disease.
I am Archie’s mother, we are trying to raise money to be able to get Archie to specialists & to explore alternative treatments
My main goal is to be able to take Archie to specialists, alternative practitioners and other healing modalities. I am hoping it will help with the quality of Archie’s life, and take the day to day stress off me so I can enjoy everyday with Archie.
2020! 15 February 2020
2020 has started off abit rough! We have just spent the last month in hospital! Archie has a horrible chest infection and was placed on airvo & oxygen. Since being on it, he is now unable to come off it so we are home now with a lot more machines and equipment to help him breathe comfortably! All donates will now be going towards making Archie comfortable, making our home as lovely as I can for him as he is pretty much home bound now! Thank you all for your support and donations!
