Help Ashwin Walk Again – Urgent Hip Surgery Fund
Queenstown, Otago
My brother, Ashwin Reddy, urgently needs bilateral hip replacement surgery. He lives in Fiji, where this procedure is not available, so he must travel to India for treatment, the most affordable option compared to New Zealand or Australia.
The surgery will be performed at Shalby International Hospital in New Delhi. The total estimated cost is NZD $40,000, which covers both hip surgeries, hospital stay, medication, accommodation, food for two months, and return flights for two people, including a small buffer for rising costs.
Ashwin was diagnosed with Avascular Necrosis (AVN) last year, and his condition has rapidly worsened. He now suffers severe pain and has very limited mobility, making it impossible for him to work or support himself.
We have already faced significant hardship as a family. Both our parents have passed away, our mother due to kidney failure when we couldn’t afford treatment, and our father shortly after. Since then, I have been the sole financial support for Ashwin, covering all his living and medical expenses while managing my own commitments.
We are committed to full transparency. Funds will be transferred directly for Ashwin’s treatment, and any remaining amount will go towards his rehabilitation or be donated.
Any support, big or small, will help give Ashwin a chance to live independently again. Thank you for your kindness.
I am the beneficiary’s sister and am supporting him by raising funds for his urgent hip replacement surgery.
The funds will go towards Ashwin’s hip replacement surgeries, hospital stay, medication, rehabilitation support, accommodation, and travel from Fiji to India.
