Aspen needs to raise money for Gender affirming care so she can be safer and more comfortable in her body
Wellington
Kia Ora, My name is Aspen!
I am a trans woman living in Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) who is hoping to raise enough money to get gender-affirming care. Due to limited opportunities in New Zealand, I am looking to explore international care options which are unfortunately just as expensive but more accessible.
I've always known I was born in the wrong body. It's disorienting to look in the mirror and feel although the person staring back at me doesn't entirely reflect who I am. I've been on hormones for over a year now, and am certain this step is the next one in my journey. This surgery will help me feel more confident, and happy in my body, as well as be more comfortable in the clothes I wear and less stressed in everyday life.
I am a full-time student and retain a minimum-wage job that covers my living expenses and doesn't leave much room for saving.
Having this surgery will truly save my life. It's incredibly important to me and will improve my mental well-being enormously.
The money will cover all surgery costs, including transport, accommodation and flights as well as any medications needed post-op. If the goal isn't met the money will be put into savings so I can reach the amount with paychecks post uni.
