Hi everyone! 👋
My name is Austin and I’m 8 years old. I’ve been training hard in GKR Karate and I’ve just received the amazing opportunity to represent New Zealand at the GKR Karate World Cup in the UK in July 2026! 🥋
This is a dream come true — but I need your help to get there!
Your support will go towards travel, accommodation, training gear, and all the costs involved in getting to the World Cup. Every little bit helps, and I’m so grateful for any donation or even a share of this page.
I’m dedicated to training, working hard every week, and I can’t wait to show the world what a Kiwi kid can do!
Thank you so much for supporting me on this journey — let’s do this together!
I’m Austin’s proud mum, and together with his dad and little brother, we’ve loved watching his karate journey grow — from countless training sessions to cheering him on at tournaments, it’s been an incredible adventure!
Money raised will go towards Austin’s travel to the UK, accommodation, training gear, competition fees, and other essential costs to get him to the GKR Karate World Cup.
Another weekend = Another tournament = More Medals! 30 March 2026
On Sunday, Austin competed in the Region 18 Round Robin Kata Tournament.
First, Austin competed in the 8-10 year old boys 4th-6th Kyu division. This was a really tough division with 18 kids competing across two heats before moving on to the finals. Austin's heat resulted in a tie, so he had to perform extra kata's so that the winners of the heat could be found. He won the tie breaker and moved on to the finals where he competed against 3 others. Austin did amazingly well and ultimately came 2nd, winning the silver medal!
Following this, he then competed in the Team Kata event with two of his team mates, winning gold! This was a particularly great achievement as they had only decided to enter as a team the week before and with one of the team having been on school camp, the only practice they managed to do as a team was the morning of the event!
Thank you!!
