Help Batu get to the 2019 University Games in Italy

Hi my name is Batu Yazici, I am a 17 year old gymnast currently studying a B Com and BA at the University of Auckland. This year I am humbled to have been one of the two people selected to represent New Zealand in gymnastics at the University Games in Napoli Italy in July this year.

The games are a huge sporting event and the level of competition is extremely high. This competition is a great opportunity for me to compete against some of the best gymnasts in the world and gain experience on an international stage, at a senior level.

In the future I hope to remain in the Olympic development squad and be a part of the first ever senior mens team to go to the Olympics in either 2020 or 2024.

Unfortunately getting to the Olympics is a long journey with many obstacles along the way and there is little to no funding for gymnastics, this is the reason I have made this page. I am a full time student and train 24 hours a week, I also work part time but it is very expensive to attend international competitions and my family have to cover all my trips expenses and fundraise.

It is wonderful to be selected to represent my country in this sport but when it comes with a price tag of $10,000 to compete internationally it is a continual struggle to maintain. Any financial help I can get would be much appreciated to keep me going on my Gymnastics journey.
