  • We have a surgery date!

    Hey everyone, first up Benny has been doing ok, he’s still sore and only using three legs but the pain killers are helping at least so I don’t think he’s too uncomfortable! I’ve been taking him for short 5 min walks to get his daily sniffs and also playing in a small capacity when possible.

    As for the surgery date, that’s booked in for the 15th December and I should be able to take him home the same day, it will be 6 weeks of crate rest and toilet breaks on lead only, then we start with rehabilitation for the remainder 8 weeks, it’s going to a be a tough road so feel free to come give him some pats and a belly rub, he’ll appreciate it!!

  • Update on Benny!

    Ok so he’s had 2 weeks of full rest now and he’s now a tripod, meaning he isn’t using his leg at all now. I noticed he was avoiding putting any weight in it after his pain medication dose was dropped and after another trip to the vet yesterday, they have upped his dose again to cope with the pain.

    They are also fairly sure he has ruptured his cruciate now which doesn’t change the surgery it just means he needs it sooner than later.

    On Friday morning we are off to see a specialist then to book the surgery then he will have about 12 weeks of recovery!
