Help bino unblock his bladder

    Sorry about the lack of updates, so Tuesday 8/11/2018 I took bino to the vets and got told there is nothing more and best to put him to sleep as he isnt getting better we took him home for one last night of love.

    On Wednesday 7/11/2018 we gave bino meds at 5am, when I got up at 7am he has managed to escape.

    We spend all day Wednesday Thursday looking for him we went door knocking and searched everyones yards in sheds under bushes under decks even under the house.

    Thursday night we were losing hope to find him alive when we got an update from a neighbour who had heard a cat cry just before the fire works so we went to that house and a lady there had seen him. We search her property and couldnt fond him, we went 4 more houses down still no sign.

    Friday morning while I was showering I heard him meow so jaz ran outside and as the flat mate was going to work she spotted him. Jaz confirmed it was 100% him.

    I was at course and jaz was at work all day so we decided to leave food every where to try get him home. I got home no sign of bino but a young black cat was on my spear bed.

    After dinner we decided to call out to him and I heard his meow I couldnt be sure it was him so jaz got food and he jumped up the fence.

    Jaz ran to the neighbors and managed to feed him and get ahold of him. Was touch and go as there is a fear distance between the properties (back sections).

    She got him home and locked him in my room where he had a big feed and some lovely snuggles.

    I woke up today to bino using the cat litter tray with no issues he just peed like a normal cat!!! I have booked him in for 915am Tuesday to see our regular vet Gemma as I didnt want to take him in right now as he is s normal and doesnt seem to have any issues, if anything changes I'll be taking him straight in.

    Thanks for all the love and support so far we have a cat bill of over 2000 but with all your lovely help we have been able to cover half so far its fantastic

  • Bino is getting there

    Thankyou all for the wonderful support we are half way to paying the vet bill off! Thankyou for all the wonderful help, bino is still bleeding but has slowed down alot, we have been to the vets today our regular vet was there and she expressed his bladder, every day we see her it is getting softer so this is great news for us and bino, we are up twice a night to give him 2 lots of meds he is still on all 4 meds she was hoping today we could bring the pain meds down but bino is still in alot of pain so we are booked in for 845am monday and we hope she can express his bladder and hopefully drop his pain meds a bit.

    Ill update you again on monday have a good weekend all.

  • Vets today

    Hello everyone, so during the night bino stayed in the hall way (he had access to my room but was grumpy he cant go far) i moved his favorite blanket to the top of my book shelf and he loved it, during the night i noticed he was non stop dribbling, this is due to having no bladder control he was booked in for 915 today to be seen, vet was happy he hasnt reblocked!!!

    He isnt out of the woods yet, he is now peeing blood, his penis is very swallon and red raw (over washing as he is a super clean cat and due to leaking he is always cleaning) vet had a good feel of his bladder and is happy its emptying well and also is alot softer than yesturday.

    The vet has uped his anti spasm as he is almost 7kgs and 1/4 of the tablet was enough so now on 1/2 tablet, she had prescribed more powerful pain medication as he is very uncomfortable, she has also given antibiotics to stop the blood in his pee, and the 4th thing she has given is stonger anti inflammatory to bring down the swelling.

    He hasnt eaten at all since we got him home sunday night, vet said to get anything into him as the new meds need food, we went all gourmet and he loved it real prince here!

    Due to no bladder control we are off to buy something water proof to stop our poor bed from getting covered in cat pee (he cant help it so cant be mad at him) just wish the weather was nice so all our washing can get dry.

    Will keep you all posted as he has vets tomorrow 9am again so hope all good news from now on as i want my bino back

  • Bino is back at the vets

    Thankyou for all your wonderful offers of help, sadly bino is back at the vets, over night he ate well i was woken at 5am to him in the litter tray he stayed there for awhile and let out the ear curdling scream, i immediately turned the light on and he was straining, this is what we didnt want to happen, i called after hours they advised to give him both meds and take him to our vets as they close at 730am. 8am rolls around i call my own vet, no answer, i rushed down and got pet milk and bottled water in the hopes he will drink, i call vets again they answer i explain the situation they tell me bring him straight in.

    As soon as i get home he panics and hides under my bed, its too heavy for me to move so i drop my dughter to school come home he is still there, i use a box to move him, i was in such a rush the door was left open!!!

    He bolts straight to the cat door i run ourside and manage to lock it from the outside so hes inside, but i left the front door open. I think he knows the drill he jumps up on a chair lets me pick him up and out him in the cat cage hissing and crying.

    I take him to the vets slow trip here thinking how much will this be now. They sre lovely and have him all day $$$isnt an issue when you have come this far have such great supprot behind me, even the vet knew who bino was!!!!

  • Bino is home!!!!

    Thankyou to everyone who has helped us on this crazy weekend, we picked bino up tonight he is peeing on his own so they allowed us to take him home, tonight we have to monitor him to make sure he isnt straining when he goes pee, they gave him anti spams pills just as we got there plus pain relief, the ride home was slow and he looked happy to finally be leaving the place he has called home since friday.

    When we got home we gave him his new diet of raw meat and his new water fountain, he ate like he hasnt eaten since friday (he hated there food). The other cats are all eager to go see him but he is sleeping in our room so we can keep a close eye on him. He is a little grumpy this is to be expected when i tried to pat him while eating, silly me.

    He is one 2 lots of meds 1 pill 3 times a day for anti spams and the other every 12 hours for pain relief. Its super cute he is now known as bino greenaway! They used my last name too cute.

    We have to take him straight back in if he starts to strain, if he is ok all night tomorrow first thing we have to go to our normal vets for a check up and to learn more about what he has been through and how to manage his diet and fluid intake.

  • Bino is coming home!

    Hello everyone! I have just recieved the best news bino has responded well to the meds they put him on to relax his bladder, we have been over whelmed with support from all you amazing people, bino truly has done a full 360 degree turn from the brink of getting put to sleep, to been able to come home to us his human family, after 2 exzausting days, little sleep, and endless moment watching my phone, he isnt out of the woods yet, he is coming home on medication, and we have to monitor him closely tonight and make sure he is in a quite stress free environment.

    This is life changing for us and all our fur babies, he is now going on a special diet and will need many checks at our own vets, i have to book him in to be seen and they can explain better what it means for us and bino.

    I dont wish this apon anyones animal, it has been very hard on us as a family we have put life on hold and poured all we can into this beloved cat, we made the right choice and we have been told if we had left it til the morning it would have been a much differnt story as this is deadly and the pain he was in i never want to witness that again.
