I really struggled with the vulnerability of sharing and asking for your help but I’m so grateful I did. Not just for the financial assistance we gained, it was the outpouring of love and support that has meant so much. I read a Rumi poem today “Like a Feather” that really resonated with me and expresses it so much better than I can

    like a feather

    sticking together

    with your friends

    you can fly as wings

and as long as you fly

    you rule over the wind

    but cut away

    as a single feather

    you’re not only useless

    you’re gone with the wind

Thank you all so very much for helping me rule over the wind.

Eternally grateful for each and every one of you.

    Xx

  • Update

Apologies for not providing an update earlier. It’s been a hard start to the year with a death in the family followed by my scan results. We’ve needed a bit of time before sharing wider.

My scan results are mixed with some stable, some reduced and unfortunately some increased. This mean I’m unable to go onto the planned unfunded drug as it’s in the same family as the one that has just failed. There is another unfunded drug available, sacituzumab/govitecan which is even more expensive. While we save for that we are going to try a combination of two funded chemos Gem Carb. I have two weeks on treatment with an infusion of both chemos over a couple of hours followed by one week off. It’s a bit rough on the white blood cell counts so they are monitoring this closely. We will continue to save and add to the funds so generously given by you all so that we can do the next unfunded treatment when needed. It’s not the news we wanted but I’m still here with options and feeling blessed to have you all in my life supporting us. Your kindness and care has made such a difference and I can not express just how grateful we are for all of your support.

    Love you all lots

    Bee and Greg

    Xx

Hi all, My current treatment has only a few more left before I’ve reached the maximum allowed. I’m tired but doing well. I have mixed emotions - I’m part relieved as weekly infusions are a relentless process, daunted at the immensity of self funded treatment but also strengthened by all the love and support from you all. I feel so loved. Knowing you all care is a very special gift. That in itself is medicine.

We are very grateful to you all and can’t thank you enough xx

  • A Little Health Update, and a Big Thank You

    Hi all

Thank you all not only for your generous donations but also for all the lovely things you’ve written as well. We are overwhelmed by your kindness.

I had my heart checked out earlier this week to make sure the current medication hasn’t damaged it and it’s normal and unchanged which is fabulous news. We will have to wait and see if that means I stay on this medication for another round or two.

So not only is my heart full but it’s also tickety-boo 😊

    Feeling very thankful xx

  • A Quick Update With Big Gratitude

I’m so grateful for everyone’s support. You are all amaaazing. Very overwhelmed by your love and support. This week I’m having my heart assessed to make sure it’s safe to continue with the my current treatment affectionately nicknamed the Red Devil chemo. I’ve had a fantastic response to it (my cancer has reduced a lot) but it’s very toxic to your heart so we are keeping a close eye on it before deciding whether to do any more rounds. The next unfunded drug is in the same family as the Red Devil but it’s less toxic to the heart so we are very hopeful I will respond to it just as well when I do get moved to it. Feeling hopeful and so thankful for every message, share, and donation. ❤️
