Help bring our aunty Freda home—she needs a wheelchair ramp before discharge after stroke recovery. Please support/share ❤️
Silverdale, Auckland
Our beautiful Aunty Freda has spent the past few months in North Shore Hospital, Auckland, after suffering a stroke caused by a blood clot in her brain. Through sheer strength and determination, she’s worked tirelessly in rehabilitation and has already regained movement in her arm — an incredible milestone — but her journey isn’t over yet.
Freda is now ready to come home, but there’s one major barrier standing in her way. To safely return, she urgently needs a wheelchair-accessible ramp installed at her house. The cost is $4,000 — a challenge our family simply can’t meet on our own.
We’ve done everything we can to seek support. ACC is unable to help, despite the stroke being linked to a car accident, and Work and Income can’t assist due to rental property restrictions — even with landlord approval. While the hospital has been amazing in providing essential equipment, the ramp is something we must fund ourselves. Mobile ramps aren't not suitable as the entrance stairs are too steep.
We’re reaching out with hope in our hearts. We’ve created this Givealittle page to help bring Freda home, where she belongs.
Every donation, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference. And if you’re unable to give, sharing this page would mean the world to us.
Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support ❤️
