With all your generosity we can help bring home Jesse's deceased father so that he can rest in peace in his home country where he belongs.

Mr. Jesse Benjamin, a former Director General of the Ministry of Climate Change, is currently residing in Tonga with his wife and children. He works for the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC), Pacific Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (PCREEE).
In March 2020, his father came over to Tonga for a visit to spend a few months with them. But Unfortunately, before he could get back to Vanuatu, COVID19 hit the Pacific and all borders were closed. His father became very ill, though he was in the hospital and was looked after, but he passed away on the 4th of May. The body is currently kept at the mortuary in Tonga.
With the current flight restrictions, it is quite difficult to find an affordable route to bring his deceased father back to Vanuatu, and financial support from SPC can only cover part of their returning flight to Vanuatu. Jesse has enquired for possible charter flights direct from Tonga to Vanuatu, the cost of which is above VT6 million around (50 thousand US dollars ) financial support options are quite limited for him, to enable him to have his deceased father finally rested at his home village in Brenwe, North West Malekula.
We as a group of friends, colleagues and well-wishers have set up this fundraising page. We hope and request you all could pitch in whatever little you can. Every dollar counts.
With all your generosity we can help bring home the family along with their loved father and he can rest in peace in his home country where he belongs.
