Seeking aid in bringing my family home to New Zealand from Japan during this uncertain time amidst the Coronavirus.
Waikato
In December 2019 my wife and our two children flew to Japan to stay with her family there and allow the kids to experience their Japanese culture. It had been five years since my wife had returned home and since her parents had seen their grandchildren in person so this trip was intended to be about 3-4 months to allow them ample time to reconnect with one another.
During this time the Coronavirus struck and since then, between my wife requiring urgent surgery in Japan and the imposed travel restrictions both here in NZ and in Japan the funds we had intended to use for their return tickets have now had to be used to support and sustain them beyond their originally planned return.
I’m asking for assistance to help me pay for their return to New Zealand at the earliest opportunity and aid in supporting them there until they are able to return. Any assistance you feel you can offer would be so greatly appreciated. I hope I can be reunited with my family during this stressful time. Thank you so much.
The funds will be used for one way return airline tickets for my wife and our two children from Japan to New Zealand. Any additional funds will be used to cover any related expenses. Remaining funds will then be donated forward to other families in need.
Uncertain outlook 9 May 2020
I have updated the goal and end date as the COVID-19 crisis continues to evolve and has pushed any possible return date further and further out. Flights home are becoming increasingly rare and more expensive, and the prospects of my family returning home seems to have become a shifting goal post. From the bottom of my heart I thank all those who have supported my family. I ask only that you please share this page and help spread the word. Thank you all so much!
