  • Donation Update - Funds Successfully Transferred

    Dear Friends,

    While some personal matters delayed me from this update, I'm pleased to share that your generous donations have reached Rusiru's family in Sri Lanka.

    Total raised: 12,660 NZD

    The amount received: 12,055 NZD (after the Give A Little commission)

    Equivalent: ~2,151,675 LKR

    The full amount has been successfully transferred to Rusiru's father's bank account. While there was the standard processing delay, I'm happy to confirm every dollar has reached the family.

    Rusiru's parents are deeply grateful for your support during this difficult time. Your kindness has provided meaningful help with funeral arrangements and brought them great comfort knowing so many people care.

  • Funeral live stream

    Thank you so much for the love and support you’ve shown during this incredibly difficult time.

    We’ve created a Google Meet link to stream Rusiru’s funeral for those of you who aren’t able to be here with us in person. We’re truly sorry we couldn’t arrange a proper live stream, with everything happening so suddenly and with the weight of final arrangements and emotions. Things have been incredibly heavy and difficult for our family to manage.

    We still wanted to make sure that those of you who cared for him from afar have a chance to join us in saying goodbye.

    Please also accept our apologies in advance if there are any technical or connection issues during the stream.

    The stream will begin at 2:30 PM (Sri Lankan time). We kindly ask you to mute your microphones when joining as we honor Rusiru’s final rites. Thank you.

  • Rusiru's Journey Home

      7 April 2025

    Rusiru left Auckland today and is expected to arrive home in Sri Lanka tomorrow evening local time. As a result, we will close this fundraising page tomorrow at midnight (8 April 2025 NZ time).

    All funds collected through this campaign will be transferred directly to Rusiru's father once Givealittle releases them.

    We are profoundly grateful to everyone who came together to support Rusiru and his family during this difficult time.
