Help us bring Theva back to Sri Lanka and support his grieving family after his sudden passing in Japan.
Auckland
On June 4, 2025, my dearest friend Sathiyanathan Theivendran (Theva) tragically passed away in Japan due to a sudden heart attack. He was only 43 years old and leaves behind a loving wife and two beautiful children.
Theva had recently travelled to Japan on a work visa, hoping to create a better future for his family during Sri Lanka’s ongoing economic crisis. His passing has not only left a deep emotional void but also placed a financial burden on his family, especially with the unexpected costs of bringing his body back to Sri Lanka for cremation.
This fundraiser is to cover the costs of funeral arrangements and support for his family during this heartbreaking time. Any remaining funds will go directly to his wife and children to help them get through the difficult days ahead.
Please consider donating — no amount is too small. Your kindness and generosity can provide some peace to a grieving family.
I am a close friend of Theva and am organising this fundraiser to support his family and arrange the return of his body from Japan.
Repatriation costs, funeral arrangements in Japan, and financial support for Theva’s wife and children. Any remaining funds will go to his family.
