Help 16-year-old Capella Martin represent NZ at the Downhill MTB World Champs and chase her dream on the world stage.
Martinborough, Wellington
Capella Martin is chasing something special.
At just 16, she has earned a place at the Downhill Mountain Bike World Cups, competing against the best riders in the world. This didn’t come easy. It’s been years of early mornings, hard training, long travel, and pushing through crashes and setbacks that would stop most people.
She has done the hard part. She has qualified.
Now comes the challenge of getting there.
Unlike many countries, New Zealand athletes often have to fund their own journey. To compete on the world stage, Capella and her family need to cover flights, accommodation, race fees, bike transport, and essential equipment. The total cost is around $50,000.
Her family has already invested heavily to support her dream, and she continues to give everything she has to the sport. This opportunity is the result of relentless effort and real sacrifice.
We’re asking for your help to make this possible.
This is more than just a race. It’s a chance for a young Kiwi athlete to represent her country, test herself against the world’s best, and show what’s possible with hard work and determination.
Every donation, big or small, gets her one step closer to that start gate.
If you can’t donate, sharing this page would mean just as much.
Let’s help Capella take on the world.
Thank you for your support.
I am a close family friend supporting Capella and her family to help her get to the World Championships.
Funds will go towards flights, accommodation, race entry fees, bike transport, equipment, and on-the-ground support. If we don’t reach the full target, funds will still help reduce the cost burden and ensure Capella can compete.
