To raise enough money to fund an emotional Therapy dog for Charlotte.
Auckland
On the 28th Jul 2018 our world was rocked and changed forever when my eldest daughter Hannah - Charlotte’s big sister - was killed in a bus accident.
Since then Charlotte has suffered from extreme anxiety and severe separation anxiety (diagnosed by her doctor), and is struggling in school and at home. She is fearful from separating from me especially, to the point that she clings on to my clothing when I have to leave her at school. Charlotte finds it very difficult to participate in extra curricular activities without me right by her side, and even then she won’t always join in. She has a difficult time sleeping in her own room, and has recurring nightmares. She is struggling with severe grief regarding the loss of her sister.
Charlotte started having dog therapy through an organisation who came to her school. During the time with the dog, her anxiety significantly lessened and her confidence increased. After speaking with the dog handler, Charlotte’s therapist and Wendy from NZ Therapy Dogs, it has been concluded that Charlotte would benefit from having an specially trained emotional therapy dog of her own. This would help provide her with a source of comfort and companionship which will aid in her ongoing journey. These labradoodle puppies are specifically trained service dogs to help reduce her anxiety, and provide her a sense of security and safety.
It breaks my heart to see Charlotte like this. It’s hard enough grieving for my daughter who died, let alone trying to cope with all of this on top of it. Please help us to raise the funds so we can help Charlotte with this anxiety and loss. Thank you 💛💛🌈🌈
I’m raising for my daughter Charlotte Bruton. The money will go towards a emotional therapy dog for her and ongoing costs for the dog.
Emotional Therapy dog for Charlotte. Any surplus would go towards the ongoing costs of having the dog.
