Help Cindy Fight Brain Cancer
Wellington
In November 2024, my dear friend Cindy experienced a frightening health scare when she fainted unexpectedly. She was rushed to Hutt Hospital, where a CT scan revealed she had a brain tumour. Since then, Cindy has faced an incredible battle with courage and resilience.
By January 2025, she had begun chemotherapy, completing six cycles up to July 2025. During this time, Cindy travelled from her home in Greytown to Wellington Hospital each day for her treatments, often early in the morning. Finances added to her stress during an already challenging time.
Cindy received devastating news: her brain cancer is terminal. Despite this, she continues to undergo ongoing treatments to prolong her life and maintain her comfort. Her son has been her pillar of support, providing daily care—driving her to appointments, preparing meals, and ensuring she is as comfortable as possible.
Unable to work, Cindy and her son are now facing significant financial difficulties. Their current income is not enough to cover the ongoing associated costs around getting her treatment and daily necessities. They need our help to ease this burden and give Cindy the best quality of life possible during this difficult journey.
Your support can make a real difference. Thank you for your consideration.
Cindy and I were work collogues for about 10 years, which developed into a close friendship.
Donations will go towards medical-associated expenses (doctor and specialist visits, prescriptions, transportation costs) as well as day-to-day living costs (like her power bill - Cindy has two heaters on everyday to keep her warm).
