I'm Clare, I've been selected to rep NZ Women’s Freestyle Wrestling (57kg) at the Oceania Wrestling Champs in Samoa from 19–21 Mar 2026

2025 I won my divisions Oceania title. 2026 I've got the opportunity to defend it & continue building my intl wrestling career but need help to make it possible

What is Involved & Why so Costly

NZ wrestlers fully self-fund

Part of team selection, athletes are required to:

Arrive in Samoa 17th Mar

Stay in compul team accom

Compete across multiple mandatory events

Attend training camp & addt'l comps following the main event

Confirmed schedule includes:

19–21 Mar Oceania Champs & Beach comp

23–25 Mar Training Camp

26–28 Mar Oceania Open Tournament

Athlete covered costs include:

Flights

Accom (compul team)

Entry fees

UWW license

Training, gear, & prep costs

Totaling est. cost to several thousand dollars, all covered personally.

Why I’m Asking for Help

I train 6 days a week, balancing:

FT work - Occupational Therapist

Parenting

High performance training

Managing a longterm health condition

Representing NZ is one of the greatest honors of my life, but it comes with real financial burden
