Help Colin Dorreen Tackle His Dream — American Football, U.S. High School, and One Massive Life Adventure!🏈
Rotorua, Bay Of Plenty
Kia ora!
Meet Colin Dorreen — 16 years old, 6 foot 8, 194 kilograms, built like a human freight train and big personality to match!
Colin’s the kind of kid you hear before you see. He’s loud, he’s proud, and when he walks into a room, people start checking for structural damage. Whether he’s dominating in rugby league, helping his mates, or trying (and failing) to whisper in class, Colin is a larger-than-life legend with an even bigger dream: to head to the USA on a high school exchange and take a serious crack at playing American football.
He’s been accepted into a student exchange program that will place him in a U.S. high school for a year. It’s more than just books and lockers – it’s about personal growth, cultural exchange, new friendships, and the chance to wear the pads and helmet and show the U.S. what Kiwi grit (and size) really looks like.
But getting there? That’s the next big challenge. Flights, program fees, insurance, visas, and maybe a few extra seats on the plane — it all adds up. Colin’s whānau is backing him every step of the way, but they can’t do it alone.
This is your chance to be part of Team Colin — to help send this big-hearted, big-bodied, big-dreaming young man on the adventure of a lifetime. Every donation, big or small, brings him one step closer to the field.
So if you’ve got a few bucks to spare — or even just want to see a 6'8" Kiwi lad lay some blocks Stateside — Colin would be beyond grateful.
Let’s get this unit to the U.S. 🏈💥
A friend helping to make things happen.
All funds raised will go towards flights, program fees, insurance, visas.
If my goal is not met, funds will go towards day-to-day costs while in America.
