Ex-Gloriavale man and his three young sons need help to get set up in their new life.
West Coast
My name is Conqueror Courage and I was recently, and unexpectedly expelled from the Gloriavale Community (on the West Coast). I was born and had lived there for 25 years until February 2019. Three of my sons are now living with me – Asher (7), Zeke (4), and Joel (20 months). My youngest newborn son, Justin, still lives at Gloriavale with my wife.
I’m in a difficult position where I love my wife and would like to be able to reunite our family, but my conscience and the leaders of the community won't allow me to return there. Contact inside is difficult and fraught with issues. I want my children to be able to see their mother, and I want to be able to see my infant son.
Because of this, I am choosing to stay on the Coast and have recently been set up on the solo parent benefit. I am working towards home-schooling the boys and being able to support them financially, but I would appreciate any other assistance that people were willing to give. The money will be carefully spent on setting up a house with furniture, bedding & appliances, educational & clothing costs, and petrol costs (we live rurally and have high travel costs relating to visitation and access agreements for the kids).
When people leave or are expelled from Gloriavale, they don’t get an opportunity to take many of their belongings. That was the case for me. All our possessions were owned in common by the community and so we came out without extra clothing, identity documents, furniture, etc.
I want to be able to provide my sons with stability and love during an extremely stressful period in their lives. I am grateful to the kind people and churches who have shown me generosity and support so far. God bless you for your love and willingness to give.
I will be using any funds that I am given to buy things like clothing, furniture, bedding, and household appliances.
Thankyou so much for this, I really appreciate it.
Thankyou. I may not be able to see what God's plan is, but I know that he has a plan, and that it will work for good.
Thankyou so much.
Thanks a lot.
Thanks, I appreciate you helping me out. God bless.
