Dan is representing NZ at the World Rowing under 23 Championships this July in Poland
Auckland
My name is Daniel Williamson and I am 18 years old. In March I was selected in the New Zealand under 23 coxless four to compete at the World Rowing Under 23 Championships this July in Poland.
Last year I achieved my dream of representing my country by being selected for the New Zealand men’s junior four to compete at the World Rowing Junior Championships in Lithuania where we won a silver medal. Thank you to everyone who supported me for this campaign.
Following under 23 trials and selection in March, I relocated to Cambridge to live and train for 13 weeks. During my time in Cambridge my focus is purely on training which leaves me with very little spare time. This means I am unable to work enough to raise substantial funds to contribute towards my campaign.
The Team departs for Poland on 13th July where we will train and acclimatise for 10 days before competing in the regatta which starts on 25th July.
I look forward to wearing the silver fern again and representing my family, community and country with pride.
All contributions of any size are hugely helpful and appreciated.
The tour to Poland costs $4000 which includes airfares, food, accommodation, boat hire and uniforms.
The cost of living and training at Lake Karapiro for 8 weeks is $3500
