Your donations will help Darren fund money for a new violin and bow!
Auckland
Dear all,
My name is Darren Breeze, and as you may know, I have been playing the violin for a very long time. I have done everything from orchestras, chamber groups, quartets etc... and have been a former member of the Auckland Youth Orchestra for 3 years and have won some competitions over the years which include...Tauranga Performing Arts Competition and the Te Awamutu Performing Arts Competition. Next year I would like to continue my musical studies at university. Though there is just one major problem I have... my violin.
I have been informed on many occasions that I have outstripped my current violin and bow, and it is drastically holding me back from reaching my full potential... It would be essential for me to have a decent quality violin to work with in university as I would be studying more advanced and complex pieces and at which would demand more from an instrument. I think a lot of people are often shocked when they find out that the price of a decent quality classical violin could easily cost $10,000+. Though if you are very lucky you could find a good one for slightly less. And a decent bow that could bounce properly and could do all the required techniques could cost start at $800+.
Although, my personal and family situation is extremely complex as we've faced a lot of problems and financial difficulties in these last years. Together with the barriers of the present pandemic, I was not able to gather the necessary value for the violin acquisition. Having an instrument of this calibre would definitely last me quite some time in my musical journey so I really need your help to fundraise a portion of the sum!
Thank You!
Any donations appreciated!
All donations will go towards a new violin and bow despite whether we make the target amount or not. But it would be ideal if we could raise $6000.
