Father, 51y.o. with four children aged 4,7, 23, 25 gets Stage 4 Melanoma

  • Thank you

      23 June 2016

Our givealittle page is coming to an end and we would like to take this opportunity to say our final thanks to everyone that has donated. Friends, old friends, work mates, family, our Whakatane community and strangers - we have been blown away by the support and kind messages we have received from people around the world.

The reality is - without your support and help, we would be in a very different situation. Our girls will only truly understand this once they are older.

We are now focusing on not just the purchased drugs, but also a diet that hopefully will starve the cancer, alternative treatments options like C vitamin injections and detoxing in general.

Dave is feeling better, but some days more tired than others. He is getting back into his training which he has missed doing for the past few months.

For updates going forward we do have a facebook group. So if you wish and not already part of it, please request

We wish you all the best.

    Christina, Dave, Amelia & Maja

  • Great news today

      31 May 2016

Dave and I had some great news today. We had a scan done yesterday and saw our oncologist today in Whakatane. We were told most of Dave's melanoma tumors were reduced, some by up to 50% including the ones in his brain.

Dave will continue to take these pills and in the near future combine it with another immune therapy drug - hopefully we can have a really good go in beating this disease.

Dave has also done a big overhaul with his diet, so he is tackling it from all angles.

We wish to thank you all so much for the donation you have made and for all the kind messages. It means the world to us and has given Dave a huge amount of strength, hope and belief. He has his fight hat on and is determine to beat this beast.

    Love to you all.

    Christina, Dave, Maja & Amelia

  • Message from Dave

      12 May 2016

Dave wishes to express his gratitude to everyone that has donated. He has been able to read all your kind messages, which has helped him deal with the Radiation treatment, and giving him so much motivation to tackle this fight. Currently he has had 8 treatments an there are 2 to go which finish Monday 16th May. 17th may Dave will start on the new immune-therapy drugs and after one month will undergo further tests to see how successful they and radio therapy have been. Once again thanks for all your kind words & donations. Dave told me "there is going to be a lot of an angry people if I lose this battle - best get on and win it!"

  • What a great start

      29 April 2016

Firstly both Dave and I would like to thank everyone who so far has donated to our fight. It has been so touching reading those messages and kind words from friends and strangers, and I know brought tears to both of us last night. Keep the fight going, spread the word, and lets see how many treatments we can get for Dave. We are in the mean time trying to take this fight to a national level, so the government can't ignore our voices. We matter and deserve hope as well!
