Hi Everyone!
Just thought I'd give you all an update on our progress thus far with Deontes teeth journey!
He had his first appointment today with the orthodontist to take xrays and photos and have a bit of a discussion. The orthodontist said that he could be facing jaw surgery as his lower jaw is shorter than his top jaw and this will be some of the cause with his over bite. We have to book in to see a hygienist for a full clean and scale as he has quite a build up of plaque and tartar because he can't close his mouth properly so his mouth is always dry and more susceptible to it which in turn means his gums are quite inflamed. 😪
No matter though we will get this sorted and he will be back at the orthodontists on the 8 June for more xrays, photos etc and then we get a treatment plan on 28 June.
So far we have been told if Deonte can have treatment without surgery using the "camouflage technique" his braces will cost approx $9500, if he needs surgery we are looking at $18000-$20000 and none of it comes under public health so is not government funded 😳😭
