A page to help a New Zealand wheelchair basketball player make it in Europe
Canterbury
My love for wheelchair basketball has been a long road. Finally, this year, I have been able to make it to over to Europe to play in the top leagues in the world!
This is a massive achievement for a New Zealand wheelchair basketball player and the first time a Kiwi has attempted this. As well as make my mark here in the Northern Hemisphere, I want to pave the road for other athletes to play here and just as importantly bring the skills I learn back to New Zealand to help grow the sport I love.
Relocating, first to Australia this year to play in the NWBL, and then to Munich, Germany, is a costly venture. To achieve the highest accolades, and put 100% focus to what I want to achieve, I need to ask for a little help from anyone that is able to give it.
Sports has given me an incredible positive outlet. With the right support, and with my drive, I aim to take my game to the next level in Europe and offer the inspiration needed for other people with disabilities who want to make it to the top of their chosen field.
With your help, you can be part of the journey of getting there.
The funds will be used to travel to tournaments, and my day to day training/living costs while in Munich. It will also be used for ongoing repairs and maintenance to my basketball wheelchair - despite what people may say, wheelchair basketball is a contact sport!
2020 season end date 3 March 2020
The date for the season end in Germany‘s Bundesliga is May - so I have updated the end date
