Ellie needs specialist surgery for ectopic ureter, can you help?

Canterbury

Last year I rescued a wee poochon puppy (Charlotte) that required specialist surgery due to a condition she was born with. Charlotte had two ectopic ureter's which means that the tubes that carry urine from the kidney's to the bladder isn't connected properly, resulting in a constant leaking of urine. this is a developmental defect that probably is hereditary. Charlotte has since had her surgery and has grown up to be an amazing, happy and healthy girl.

One year on and I find an advertisement on Trademe, Poochon pup free to home but will require specialist surgery.

This puppy who I have named Ellie, has come from the same place as Charlotte, and has exactly the same condition. I could not leave her to chance that someone will take her on and do the right thing by her, and spend the nearly $8000 (not $2k-$5k as the breeder advertised) that is needed to provide the health care and treatment that she needs to thrive.

The cost involved in the treatment is more that just the surgery itself. A CT scan is required to determine exactly what is happening, and then a specialist is required to undertake the surgery, and there is after-hour care and pain relief and medication etc. Charlotte's bill for this totaled $6239.77 (I have included the invoices in the gallery) - this was not including the follow up consultations and extra pain relief from the vets, or the ultrasound that is needed to make sure that the surgery was successful.

I understand that some people may think that I am mad for taking on another broken pup, especially knowing the financial implications. But I did it with Charlotte and she is worth every single cent, and millions more. Ellie is otherwise a perfectly happy, normal pup and she deserves the same chance. I will find a way no matter what, but it will be so much easier with your help and support.

So I thank all of you furr-baby lovers in advance, as every dollar helps.

I am sure Ellie will be grateful to be out of nappies in a short few months :)

Use of funds

CT scan, specialist surgery to correct the issue, after hours treatment, pain relief, follow up care and ultrasounds.
