Help Emery fight Rett syndrome with intensive therapy

In October 2020 we completed our family of 5 with our beautiful Emery! She met all her milestones for 6 months but we started to notice delays in her development. After many tests we received the devastating diagnosis of Rett syndrome.

This is a neurological disorder described as cerebal palsy, epilepsy, parkinsons, autism and anxiety all wrapped up in one little girl. Not long after diagnosis Emery went through the rapid deterioration stage of Rett and was left severely disabled, unable to crawl, walk, talk or use her hands. It has been heartbreaking as her parents to witness, but Emery is a superstar proving that worth isn’t determined by ability and that love needs no words.

While Rett has robbed her of so many skills, it hasn’t taken her spirit and we are determined to get her the best help possible to gain back some independence. We have spent the last 2 years exhausting therapy options in NZ and are now wanting to take her over to Australia for a 3 week intensive therapy at the Centre of Movement.

There is research showing that this type of therapy has the best results, and little Emery deserves the best! 3 weeks of intensive therapy is equivalent to 6 months of therapy. We hope to take her over in July and then continue these intensives every 6 months.
