More Progress!
29 July 2018First and foremost a huge thank you to my amazing husband Tony, and to my sons Caleb & Michael for your independence & strength in my absence, I know this can't be easy. Another thanks to Mars NZ for your generous support. Also, a thanks to everyone else for your prayers, love and support, without you this journey wouldn't be possible. Finally, thanks to the incredible doctors and nurses at Christchurch Hospital for getting Jack this far.
Well, Jack has finally moved to Burwood Spinal Unit, and is currently fighting another chest infection. He still is using a tracheotomy an soon they will be putting a speaking valve on. We are waiting on a report from the doctor and surgeon to say whether Jack requires surgery to plate and screw bones in his neck.
Jack has been measured for a wheelchair, and soon active rehab will start. For the time being, I am Jacks hands and voice. Currently, Jack and I are working with his social worker to sort out accommodation on site to save the 2 hour round bus trip to be there for him. It is still a long and hard road ahead.
Much love from Jack, Mum and Family.
