*** NEW UPDATE, CHECK UPDATE TAB***

On the 27th of April 2018, Jack was involved in a serious car accident, causing a number of serious issues including a brain bleed and extensive spinal injuries. He was the only person involved in the accident. Jack is in ICU still 2 weeks on and heavily sedated. Day by day there is small progress being made and we hope he will transfer to the Burwood Spinal Unit in the next couple of weeks. his recovery and long term prognosis is still not confirmed but he will be recovering around for 6-9 months. Most of his family live in the North Island and it is financially hard for us to visit.

Any funds raised will be greatly appreciated, as the nurses have said that it is vital to Jack’s recovery for some familiar faces to be around.

More Progress!  29 July 2018

First and foremost a huge thank you to my amazing husband Tony, and to my sons Caleb & Michael for your independence & strength in my absence, I know this can't be easy. Another thanks to Mars NZ for your generous support. Also, a thanks to everyone else for your prayers, love and support, without you this journey wouldn't be possible. Finally, thanks to the incredible doctors and nurses at Christchurch Hospital for getting Jack this far.

Well, Jack has finally moved to Burwood Spinal Unit, and is currently fighting another chest infection. He still is using a tracheotomy an soon they will be putting a speaking valve on. We are waiting on a report from the doctor and surgeon to say whether Jack requires surgery to plate and screw bones in his neck.

Jack has been measured for a wheelchair, and soon active rehab will start. For the time being, I am Jacks hands and voice. Currently, Jack and I are working with his social worker to sort out accommodation on site to save the 2 hour round bus trip to be there for him. It is still a long and hard road ahead.

Much love from Jack, Mum and Family.
