Help full recovery of my heart condition and continue creating Latin music in return.
Mission Bay, Auckland
In early January, Fidel was admitted to hospital with acute pericarditis, severe inflammation, and fluid accumulation around his heart, along with a range of other debilitating symptoms that made normal activities nearly impossible.
He is currently on strong medication to manage inflammation, which causes further complications such as stomach pain and additional physical side effects. Although doctors are treating the condition, the underlying cause has been identified by a specialist as a vaccine-related injury after reviewing Fidel’s medical records. Unfortunately, this means that treatment remains vague and incomplete. Fidel now hopes to save enough money to travel to Mexico to seek help from immunologists, as New Zealand has limited resources in this field and offers little hope for full recovery.
He must carefully balance movement and rest to avoid the risk of heart failure or a heart attack. At the moment, he receives no financial or institutional support, and the cost of ongoing medication is adding significant financial strain, as he must pay for much of it out of pocket.
Fidel is currently the only active professional Mexican musician in Auckland, known for his meaningful contribution to the local music scene through the representation of Mexican and Latin American culture. Music brings him joy, but performing also takes a physical toll often leaving him in pain afterward.

Medical expenses, and recovery so he can keep playing more music for the communities
Long travel alone not recommended as per medical advice 13 July 2025
Due to the long and physically demanding nature of the journey, Fidel must travel with a companion in case of a medical emergency. Given his ongoing heart condition, there is a risk of complications during travel. Based on medical advice, it is not recommended for him to undertake this trip alone.
