Help Florence get to Europe, Asia & USA with the Global Development Tour

I have been selected recently as a delegate for UN Youth New Zealand's 2019 Global Development Tour alongside 21 other high school students across the country. We will be representing New Zealand throughout the States, Europe and Hong Kong, and competing in CMUNCE in New York City.

This unique trip departs for a month in January next year and we will be visiting cities such as New York, London, Paris, Berlin, Hong Kong, and more. Each city we visit will be connected in some way to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. We will be meeting with a range of policy makers, diplomats, dignitaries, and various organisations within the various destinations, with opportunities for roundtable discussions. In New York, I will also have the privilege of representing New Zealand at a very prestigous Model United Nations event for high school students - Columbia University Model United Nations and Exposition (CMUNCE), together with 400 students from around the world. This is an incredibly exciting event to be able to participate in, as I love competing in MUN events.

The learning experiences and development opportunities I am offered on this trip are unparalleled in value. I will be able to develop skills, as well as gain new ones that will enable me to participate more effectively within my community. Being able to foster my keen interest and knowledge of international relations will not only develop my interpersonal skills, but aid me with contacts that will serve me long term. I long for a career in foreign affairs and this trip will provide insight like no other.

Being chosen as a delegate for this tour is an enormous privilege, and I am very excited to take the challenges that will be thrown at me and help make this a reality. Of course, a trip as fascinating as this does not come cheap. I currently have a part time job, and will be seeking other routes of funding but alas I cannot do this on my own. With the high cost of tertiary education coming up on the horizon also, I wish to lighten the load as much as possible on my family with the delegate fee. However, any amount you wish to donate would mean the world to me (and my family), and I would be very grateful.
