Thank you all so much for the donations and the support you have given me thus far through my cancer journey.

I have had a tough battle with this cancer and struggled so hard with it at times.

Through the physical and mental pain has been horrendous and still here I am, and exist for some important purpose. Thank you again for all the support, you all have given me hope and extended my life through your donations, no matter what happens to me from here on, I will always cheeriest you all in my heart.

My battle continues, what the the future holds for me now is uncertain but what is certain is that my faith is the only thing now that I can go by because that's all I have left and I hope that the creator lets me live through the world tribulations to see my youngest son through to his 18th birthday and I have both physical and spiritual strength to endure the trials ahead.

Groups representing cancer patients are worried that the Givealittle pages many rely on to pay for medicines not funded by Pharmac won't be supported in an economic downturn.

They also worry that if the health system becomes overloaded and ethical decisions have to be made about rationing ventilators then those with advanced cancer may not get access to them.

  • Its amazing I'm alive

I am currently on another drug as Alecensa - Alectinib has stopped working after 7 months of starting it. Ongoing treatment is expensive and I just do not have the funds to cover it other alternatives may be explored but will not be able to finance it due to lack of funds unless Pharmac would help and give my money back that I had to spend on Pharmac drugs or the Government helps me. I just don't know where this will lead to.

It's amazing that I'm still alive and I thank God but I am also thankful and very grateful to everyone that has contributed thus far helping me, Its been a hard roller-coaster ride this cancer journey I must keep trying all avenues to stay here on planet earth, the harvest is rich and I want to be apart of that and having that hope in fully recovering and to find a job and a new life that would be nice.

It's an ongoing battle to fund expensive cancer treatments, supplements, maintain cancer diets, and cancer protocols, traveling to the hospital hospice, and specialists the cost is HUGE to keep battling cancer. I have realized it's a wise thing to have medical insurances because you never know if you will get seriously ill one day.

Please give generously so I can continue with cancer treatment have some chance of beating this cancer.

I thank you so much and especially to ALL those who have already given... xx

Also, I thank every moment now of my life and very grateful that I am still here and spend every opportunity with my family.

They say when you're close to death that will be the testing time for one's spiritual strengths and weaknesses will show through.

This ongoing treatment is expensive and I don't have the funds to cover it any longer as funds that brought the Alectinib drug gobbled up every penny I had donated from past donations, so further donations for future cancer treatment are so much appreciated.

Other treatment alternatives may be explored further down the line but I am so concerned that there will not be enough money to fund the treatment so yet again I will not be able to finance treatment due to no money and the EXTREMELY HIGH DRUG PRICES THAT PHARMAC AND THE GOVERNMENT PLACE ON THEM!... unless Pharmac or the government would help me fund ongoing cancer treatment and give me a refund of all that money that was spent on Alectinib I just simply wouldn't be able to afford their drugs for treatment.

"Life is precious handle with prayer"

Having a spiritual connection with God is important to me.

The government needs to fund these must have drugs that can not afford them so people have the opportunity to live better quality lives or to live longer.

A BIG thank you to stuff.co.nz and the Taranaki Daily News https://www.stuff.co.nz/taranaki-daily-news

PS: Also a HUGE thank you to all those kind and beautiful people out there for helping me with your kind donations and God Bless.

  • Update of the drug that will help Karl

      27 February 2019

The name of the drug that is needed is called...

" Alectinib " it it not funded here in New Zealand. and should be with a whole lot of others like Crizotinib (Xalkori), Kadcyla (Ado-Trastuzumab Emtansine), Keytruda (Pembrolizumab) just to name a few..

It has a completely different way it works than traditional chemo drugs by targeting the cancer cells without harming the good cells.

He really needs funding for this.

Is there anyone out there to help Karl to stay alive and to be able to afford this drug.

    Thank you
