Help Fraser get his life back: Funding therapy for rare & debilitating antibiotic toxicity poisoning.

Upper Hutt, Wellington

Fraser is suffering debilitating life-changing side effects from an adverse reaction to antibiotics. No warning was given about possible severe side effects before the Dr administered this antibiotic and yet a year later he is still in severe daily pain & unable to work.

The NZ health system & ACC have failed him miserably. He has had no rehabilitation plan from ACC since being diagnosed in Sept 2023. He is tired of suffering, and just wants to be rehabilitated so he can go back to work and have a normal life again. He is in constant pain every single day, sore hands & feet, burning skin sensations, tendonopathy and neuropathy.

After reading many medical reports from overseas cases we believe there are several treatments that can help Fraser in his recovery. Unfortunately ACC will not cover these and so we need help to fund them.

With hyperbaric therapy & stem cell therapy we believe his cells will start to heal from the damage the antibiotics caused to his mitochondria.

We know others out there who have been affected by cipro antibiotic poisoning also and want to spread the word.

If you are unable to give anything please share this to help us in this way. We are eternally grateful for any assistance we can get through this exhausting battle.

Biggest thank you   4 November 2024

Hi everyone an update on Fraser’s health and ACC case. After several months of leasing the Hyperbaric oxygen chamber he really noticed a difference with his energy levels and brain clarity. Thank you so much to everyone who donated and helped him to lease the machine for that long!!!! We are so grateful 😊 Now that he no longer has it he is noticing just how much using it every day was benefiting him. There has been no treatment from ACC, other than a few weeks of physio but that funding has run out so he’s told. And so he sits and waits because no one knows how to proceed. ACC will not cover any ‘unproven’ treatments and it seems there are no ‘proven treatments’ for toxicity in NZ! It is now two years that he has been off work and he still has daily severe hand & feet pain and now lower back pain.

There is some good news though! Two other men who are in the NZ support group he started for fluoroquinolone toxicity have just had their ACC cases approved - after battling for years with no acknowledgement! This is such good news as it means with their combined efforts they’re spreading awareness about this severe reaction and ACC are finally it seems listening. Maybe this means they will receive some sort of treatment plan in the future?! Who knows, we can only hope. And keep making loud noise that it is not ok to ignore the danger of these antibiotics that have ruined formerly fit & healthy peoples lives. Thanks again everyone, much love!
