Help Aaron get to the Guildhall in London!
Canterbury
On the 26th of July 2019, South Canterbury Aero Club’s Chief Instructor Aaron Pearce received an email from the Honourable Company of Air Pilots (formerly the Guild of Air Pilots and Air Navigators) informing him he had been awarded the Grand Master’s Medal for 2019 under the approval of His Royal Highness Prince Andrew, Duke of York.
This award is given to a pilot under the age of 30 for outstanding achievement and endeavour in any field of flying activity.
Aaron has given tirelessly to his passion, sport and profession of flying and flight instruction. He was one of the founding members of Kiwi Pilots, one of the largest pilot social media pages in NZ and has helped many kiwi youth achieve their aviation goals. Aaron has sent multiple young people solo on their 16th birthdays, helped them achieve scholarships and continues to mentor others to become the best pilot they can be. Aaron volunteers on both the FlyingNZ instructors council and executive. He also played a key role in saving the South Canterbury Aero Club when it was in serious financial struggle.
The presentation dinner will be held this October at the Guildhall in the city of London. As England is on the other side of the world from NZ the cost of travel is prohibitive on a flight instructors wage. After offers were made to Aaron of people wanting to contribute, this page was made.
Any and all support is greatly appreciated!
I’ve created this page on Aaron’s behalf, after seeing the awesome support he has received from people all over this is a medium for those who may be wanting to contribute!
The funds will go towards travel costs and accomodation.
